Tiger mount comeback against the Bulldogs, as LSU tops Miss. St. 31-16
After a disappointing half of football for the LSU Tigers, they were able to mount an impressive comeback against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Tigers went down 13-0 in the first half, but after scoring touchdown with less than 30 seconds on the clock in the second quarter the Tigers never looked back.
The Tigers were led by quarterback Jayden Daniels’s 210 passing yards and team high 93 rushing yards in their comeback. Wide receiver Malik Nabers also had a big night for the Tigers with 6 receptions and 76 receiving yards.
For the Bulldogs, the loss overshadowed a solid night for their quarterback Will Rogers. The junior looked decent in the first half and ended the game 24-42, with one touchdown and one interception on 214 passing yards.
The Tigers now improved to 2-1 with Brian Kelly’s men off to a 1-0 start in conference play. For the Bulldogs, this was their first loss of the season, and also their first conference game of the season, putting their record at 2-1 as well.
Up next for the Tigers are the New Mexico Lobos, who are off to a 2-1 start to the season. The Mountain West Division team is coming off a win against the UTEP Miners, but the Tigers will be a tough task for the Lobos. The game will kickoff at 6:30 in Tiger Stadium.
